ITZY has officially returned with a new group release, bringing “Motto” to the center of the May 18 K-pop comeback lineup. The new mini album marks the group’s first full-group comeback of 2026 and gives Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna a fresh chance to reconnect their performance-driven identity with a brighter seasonal sound.
The album was released on May 18 at 6 PM KST, with ITZY holding a countdown live one hour earlier to celebrate the comeback with global fans. The timing made the release feel like a full fan event rather than a standard drop, allowing the group to move from teaser content into real-time communication before the music became available on streaming platforms.

The title track, also named “Motto,” has been introduced as a refreshing and trendy song suited to the early-summer season. Ahead of the release, ITZY drew attention with two music video teasers: one emphasizing the group’s clean performance lines and cool choreography, and another leaning into a more dreamy, surreal visual mood. Together, the teasers positioned “Motto” as a comeback that keeps ITZY’s sharp stage energy while softening the presentation with a brighter emotional tone.
The mini album contains eight tracks in total. Alongside the title track “Motto,” the project includes “Glitch” and “you And I,” as well as five solo songs that were previously introduced through ITZY’s third world tour “TUNNEL VISION.” Those solo tracks are Yeji’s “Pocket,” Lia’s “Asylum,” Ryujin’s “LOOK,” Chaeryeong’s “Undefined” and Yuna’s “Tangerine.” By placing the solo songs on the official album, ITZY gives fans a fuller version of the concert experience while also highlighting each member’s individual color.
That structure makes “Motto” more than a simple title-track comeback. It works as both a group statement and a member-focused release, combining ITZY’s collective performance appeal with individual tracks that can extend fan interest beyond the main single. For a group known for high-energy choreography and confident messaging, the album gives multiple entry points: the bright title track, the new B-sides and the solo numbers that connect back to the world tour.

The comeback also arrives at a strong moment for ITZY’s visibility. Recent attention around the group’s performance image and tour material has helped renew interest in their strengths as a stage-centered act. With “Motto,” ITZY appears to be building on that momentum by pairing a more accessible seasonal sound with the confidence and precision that have long defined the group.
For the May 18 K-pop release calendar, ITZY stands out as one of the major girl group comebacks of the day. While several big names released music at the same time, “Motto” gives ITZY a clear concept hook: a full-group return, a title track built for the season and an album format that makes space for every member. If the song connects with listeners, the release could become an important marker in ITZY’s 2026 activities and a strong starting point for the next phase of their promotions.
