NMIXX is making their first comeback of 2026 with the release of their fifth mini album, ‘Heavy Serenade,’ on May 11 at 6 PM KST.

The comeback arrives after the strong momentum of ‘Blue Valentine,’ which helped the group expand its presence both in Korea and overseas. Because of that, ‘Heavy Serenade’ is not just another album release. It is the next step in showing how NMIXX can carry their vocal strength, performance identity, and experimental pop sound into a new season.

The title itself sets the tone. A serenade usually suggests something soft, romantic, and intimate, but NMIXX adds the word “Heavy” to create a sharper contrast. That contrast fits the group’s signature mix-pop style, where unexpected shifts, bold arrangements, and strong vocal moments often become the center of the experience.

Another point to watch is the emotional direction of the album. Singer-songwriter Hanroro is reported to have participated in the lyrics for the title track, adding another layer of interest to how NMIXX will balance intensity with sentiment.

With several major girl group releases lined up in May, NMIXX’s comeback feels like the opening note of a busy K-pop month. All eyes are now on how ‘Heavy Serenade’ will perform on music charts, stages, and global fan conversations after its release.
